God’s paintbox …

One thing I can say about this pandemic is it is making me more creative. I have been working within our yard and we have planted a larger garden than normal. I love canning so it may turn out to be a good chapter in a crummy time.  We miss the kids and grandchildren. My background is medical and I want everyone to stay safe and remember this is not a hoax.

Comfort in a Novena …

Growing up catholic I find great comfort in novenas. Here is the first novena it was to the Holy Spirit.

Luke 24:49 (AMP)

49 Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you; but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”

Have faith …

Matthew 21:18-22 AMPC

In the early dawn the next morning, as He was coming back to the city, He was hungry. And as He saw one single leafy fig tree above the roadside, He went to it but He found nothing but leaves on it [seeing that in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. And He said to it, Never again shall fruit grow on you! And the fig tree withered up at once. When the disciples saw it, they marveled greatly and asked, How is it that the fig tree has withered away all at once? And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.

Unsettling times …

Hooray, today the sun came out!! The little blessing seems to be greatly appreciated during this time of unsettledness. I am finding my self doing tasks that my parents and grandparents did. Storing rice, beans, cereal in quart Ball jars. Washing our grand turkey roasters that can be used for roasting meats or a canning bath for canning garden harvests this fall. I have to say I am calmer and kept busy during this pandemic. I made jelly and chicken broth as well as cleaning up my old cast iron skillets getting back to a much nicer and quiet time of my parent’s and grandparent’s era plus rekindling relationships with old and new cousins on social media.

I am hoping and praying the world can relax and enjoy some of this time of uncertainty that the world has been set into. I am sending out blessings and prayers for rebirth.

The mind and deception …

Boy, some mornings I am struggling with others within my family. I am eating breakfast but another member has to cook in the kitchen but the dishwasher is not emptied. The huffs and puffs of the other family member are overwhelming. Why are they allowed to do such behavior but they will criticize anyone else for the same behavior? I am realizing that the evil one is causing strife, conflict, and anger. Being raised Catholic we were taught about the evil one. Another person that speaks of him is Joyce Meyer.

THE SOULS WHO ESPECIALLY VENERATE AND GLORIFY MY MERCY …

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

“Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ESPECIALLY VENERATE AND GLORIFY MY MERCY, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over my Passion and entered most deeply into My spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death.”

Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High! I beg You O God:

Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of Jesus, who said to them that during their life, but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of His, He, Himself, will defend as His glory.

Amen.

Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Looking for guidance …

As I am searching for guidance during this weird time I have found Joyce Meyer has a great way of giving me an easy to follow bible study. She is offering a free 30 day bible study.  Stay well and safe as we all travel through this strange time.
