St. Ignatius of Loyola …

Being raised Catholic we have many great teachings.
The Examen prayer, developed largely by St. Ignatius of Loyola, is a method of reviewing our day in the presence of God. We set time aside for prayerful reflection on where God has been in our everyday life, and those moments we responded well or failed to do so. There are 5 basic steps to this beautiful prayer as a way to truly understand God working in our lives:
1) Ask God for light – Lord, help me to see my day with your eyes, rather than my own.
2) Give thanks – Every day is a gift from God, am I grateful for that?
3) Review the day – May the Holy Spirit guide me in reviewing my day.
4) Face your shortcomings – I acknowledge my failings or wrongdoing throughout this day.
5) Look forward to the day to come – Lord, help me to do better tomorrow than I did today.
If we learn to say this prayer daily, we truly do see the world with the eyes of faith, and can often more easily recognize how God is present in our daily life. The Church calendar shifts to Ordinary Time now until Ash Wednesday on February 26. How do we see God working in the ordinary and daily routine of our lives? May we seek to embrace those simple moments, give thanks, and always look forward to what is to come!
God Bless,

The passage of life …

My mother in law passed away a few days ago.  She was 1031/2. Funny when we’re very young we add the half age and I find it amusing when someone is very old we do the same thing. She had a memory that was so amazing, was clear-minded and she was such a wonderful person. Never holding grudges or animosity towards anyone. Anyone that met her wanted to be like her, a true Christian.

John 14:1-6 (AMP)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, [a]I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 14:23 (AMP)

23 Jesus answered, “If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him.

John 14:27 (AMP)

27 Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]
